Making Your Marketing Strategy “Change Proof”!
I’ve been recently helping a group of internet network marketers who’s company shall remain anonymous, which has thrown a spanner in the works for it’s members globally… Why?
Well, imagine for a moment, creating a strategy around your home business opportunity or franchise and for the governing body to all of a sudden change the rules by stating…
“You can’t use any of our material, reference our company at all, use our company
name or brand in your sites, marketing or intellectual property, claim bank statements of income, have any unfair advantage that encourages sponsor shopping and no direct links to our website”
What would you do if you’re company or franchise opportunity did that to you?
Do you have any ideas on how you might recover from such a seemingly large blow? And for some of the top leaders in that company it is a big blow, because all their marketing, articles, videos, audios and other social marketing to this date (some of it years and years old) must now be tracked down and all taken offline.
Here’s some ideas I put together to help the already established and new members looking to setup their web strategy, so that they will never again be held hostage to company policy change.
- Find out the “WHY” behind you joining this company, what was it that made you passionately join them?
- Take that “WHY” and workout how you can position yourself in such a way that is helping others, while building that “WHY” into your own brand and company.
- Position yourself in a niche around your “WHY” and then begin creating content on the “HOW”…
- Take the “HOW” and expand upon how it helped you with your life directly, how it’s helped others lives and also the training that you provided and would now like to provide others with.
- Invite people reading your site about you, your “WHY” and “HOW” to contact you so you can possibly help them with a “No-Pressure” conversation.
- Take your company’s training, products, services and create your own similar versions of them on a lower end scale, and then offer your main company that you represent as your upsell offer (but don’t yet talk about the business opportunity yet, unless they are seeking an opportunity, becuase this comes later once they experience the product and “YOU” personally, people will stick with you if they like you first and foremost).
- Finally, once they’ve experienced it all and what you can do for them, show them how much more there is, by taking bits n pieces of the company your with, and showing it’s best points of the presentation and throwing the “Hypey” parts out the window.
The above process will not only see you position yourself as a highly unique, intelligent and effective leader, but it will also “FREE” you up from ever being held hostage to a governing company again.
By creating your own company from scratch around the solutions your opportunities products / services solves you can begin to take back your own power as a serious net entrepreneur.
You will call the shots, you will create your own processes and use the company that you’re with to “YOUR” best advantage, rather than the other way around which is what has just happened with the company in mention in this post.
This can happen quite a lot with home business style opportunities, they let the distributors do what they want for the first few years to get out there, create backlinks to their site, amplify the brand name and then make them withdraw everything they’ve done in the name of the company protecting it’s brand (but at the same time winning on exposure from the efforts of its distributors to date).
Not an entirely fair, or even pre-planned set of events I don’t think, but devastating to those agents who have built their marketing funnels around it none the less.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, the only way you can really stand out and position yourself “AWAY” from your companies policies is by differentiation of you, your products, your services and how you can help through “information marketing” which the internet search engines really love, and the information is about you, so it’s your own intellectual property that no-one can ever tell you to take down.
That’s how the big wigs of the internet network marketing industry are getting ahead, bringing in leads and growing their businesses without ever talking about their main opportunity.
